Deliver the Fool Larry Dunn © ‘04 Verse Shadows run from a dull yellow moon Reflected on the window of a low rent room Where the wraith of a man in a skid row dive Cooks one last rock in a hot glass pipe Had his suit ready, cleaned and pressed He’d pinned a note to his jacket, a last request ‘I don’t ask much’ it read ‘except one thing’ ‘Please read these last words over me’ Chorus Father come…Please make room Into your kingdom…Deliver the fool Verse He was a talented man, the family’s pride So they tried to help him when they saw him slide But over time the fact settled in That their hands were tied, could not save him All the love, understanding and money couldn’t do Can’t help somebody if they won’t let you Chorus Solo Bridge I swear if you’re listenin’…and the wind’s just right You can still hear him…singing in the night Verse He could bring down the house, anytime he played Few could touch him at the top of his game But he flew too high, sunk too low Got drug down in the undertow Chorus plus tag…Deliver the fool, Deliver the fool, Deliver the fool

Oil Town Angel Larry Dunn ©07 Verse She’s an oil town angel, been a rodeo queen Can quote lines from Shakespeare, catch rainbows in a stream Ride bare back, tame a hellcat down, gentle as a lamb Have all her jealous rivals eating from her hand I’ve been from Georgia to the Golden Gate From Maine to New Orleans And she’s still the finest figure ever walked into my dreams Chorus You can see forever on a Wyoming night Hollywood stars never shined so bright As the West Coast gets drunk again on its hustle and spin I’m going back to that angel if she’ll take me in Verse Things will change as things do but they’re often concealed Takes a better eye than mine sometimes for them to be revealed I’d been blinded by a stubborn pride that I could ill afford And like a useless possession, finally threw it overboard Now there’s silver beneath the tarnish and stain With a little lovin’ care it may shine again Chorus We could see forever on a Wyoming night Hollywood stars never shined as bright As the seven sisters rise into the autumn skies again I’m going back to that angel if she’ll take me in Pre-chorus I’ve been from Georgia to the Golden Gate From Maine to New Orleans And she’s still the finest figure ever walked into my dreams 2nd Chorus

If It Wasn’t For You Larry Dunn ©’04 Verse Soft shoulders, dim tavern light Chasing thrills that seldom last a night Sweet candy that only left me craving something more Verse Chance encounters leading nowhere A revolving door of brief affairs Crazy games that just left me more empty than before Chorus If it wasn’t for you…taking my breath away I’d never believe there would come a day That I’d find a love so warm and true If it wasn’t for you If it wasn’t for you Bridge Taking me to your heart With love so strong Wrapping me up In the arms I’d been missing all along Solo Chorus If it wasn’t for you…letting me walk you home Together arm in arm in love I’m proud to call my own I’d never believe there could be someone so warm and true If it wasn’t for you, if it wasn’t for you If it wasn’t for you, if it wasn’t for you

Long Stemmed Roses Larry Dunn ©07 Verse Woke up to a cold grey day on the downside of a breakup It took my world to turn the wrong way, to finally wake up Can’t put this off on no one else, nothin’s gonna change the fact Now that I pushed her away, nothin’ I do will bring her back Chorus Long stemmed roses did not change her mind Champagne and candlelight aren’t gonna buy me anymore time Verse The letter that she’d left me should’ve come as no surprise Still I felt the sting in every word or her goodbye Written in no uncertain terms, spelled out line by line My powers of persuasion will not bring her back this time Chorus Long stemmed roses will not be enough Diamond inlay, pearls and champagne Won’t reconcile this love Long stemmed roses did not change her mind Champagne and candlelight aren’t gonna buy me anymore time Bridge I need her more now than I’ll ever admit She’s gonna be a tough act to follow And harder still for me to forget Breakdown She vowed not to fall for all that passion brings Bound by promises that may never be Tangled in a lover’s touch that isn’t all it seems She vowed to keep her distance from another empty dream Chorus Long stemmed roses will grant me no reprieve Pearl inlaid serenades no longer cast their spell for me Long stemmed roses will not change her mind Champagne and candlelight aren’t gonna buy me anymore time

One Of These Days Larry Dunn ©07 Verse The voice I hear on the telephone is the sound of a life changing forever I search in vain, I can’t find the words to say to make it any better It’s a deceptive stretch of road, time marches on So many blessings left uncounted in a single breath are gone Pre Chorus Dark clouds on the horizon, thunder rollin’ over head I’d hoped for a change of weather, but it looks like rain instead Chorus 1 One of these days will bring good news When the message that’s delivered isn’t wrapped in blues One of these days, a time will come, one of these days Verse Sister Faith’s been waiting… Holding out against the odds her ship will finally come in Got the patience of a saint but even that is wearin’ thin It’s rumored better days are right around the bend I hope it’s not more high expectations twistin’ in the wind again Pre Chorus Another storm is comin’ and the rain keeps pourin’ down Been nothin’ but bad weather, bad weather all around Chorus 2 One of these days the sun will rise in style Fair wind’s gonna blow, fortune’s gonna smile One of these days, a time will come one of these days Solo Bridge I’ve lived on either side of the great divide, moved from town to town And trouble’s there no matter where I set my suitcase down Chorus 1 Chorus 2

Where’s That Sweetheart Larry Dunn ©07 Verse Where’s that sweetheart I once knew What has gotten into you That tone you’ve taken’s growin’ colder When will this storm blow over Where’s that sweetheart I once knew Verse Where’s that sweetheart that I miss What kind of welcome is this Cold shoulders and an icy stare Is this how you greet the one who cares Where’s that sweetheart that I miss Bridge Where’s the smile that can light up a room The laugh that can warm any heart What did I do to bring on this mood That’s pushing us apart Verse Where’s that sweetheart that I know Till you get back I’m layin’ low By now I’ve learned I’ll never win Dealin’ with your evil twin Where’s that sweetheart that I know Solo Bridge Verse Where’s that sweetheart that I miss Right now I can’t begin to guess Seems these days I’m always wrong And we just do not get along Where’s that sweetheart that I miss Where’s that sweetheart that I miss

Another Day Slips Away Larry Dunn © ‘03 Verse The Western sky is lit in crimson flames As the sinking sun sets the heavens ablaze Turquoise blue turns deep violet shades As another day slips away Verse Evening meals are simmerin’ on kitchen stove And over dinner tables the day’s stories are being told One more sun sets as the night unfolds As another day slips away Bridge I stand in wonder, humbled and amazed At the mountain peaks crowned in a crimson blaze The Almighty painted across the sky At how quickly days and dreams fly by Verse Memories are polished in the sands of time As they sift through the hourglass the brighter they shine All jagged edges mellow down by and by As another day slips away Vocal -harmony section Bridge As another day…slips through my fingers and under my skin And I can’t help but think, every now and then ‘Bout the places I’ve been, the people I’ve crossed The games I’ve won and the loves I’ve lost Verse The western sky is lit in crimson flames As the sinking sun sets the heavens ablaze Turquoise blue turns deep violet shades As another day slips away Vocal-harmony section

I Got Lucky 02:55
I Got Lucky Larry Dunn ‘07 Verse Been on the sunny side ever since we met Now I know how sweet love can get I got lucky…lucky as a man can be Verse Every night, I come by You give me love, I can’t deny That I’m lucky…as a man can be Bridge I count my blessings, knock on wood Can’t remember havin’ it this good You’re livin’ proof angels must exist But how could heaven be as sweet as this Verse Now people search their whole lives through And never find what I found with you I got lucky…as a man can be Bridge My life changed the day we met Now I know how sweet love can get I count my blessings and I knock on wood Can’t remember havin’ it this good Verse Every day you’re here with me I realize what it truly means To be lucky…as a man can be I got lucky…lucky as a man can be

Hurricane 03:27
Hurricane Larry Dunn ©07 Verse Vengeance is coming in a cold blooded rage Fury unleashed, his madness un-caged All that’s held sacred he will forsake Leaving nothing but sorrow and pain in the wake Verse A gathering storm breaks over the land Nothing is spared his merciless hand Evil will not be denied And madness never satisfied Verse He walks with hatred, sleeps with greed Sows war and destruction, he’s the devil’s seed The age old vendetta passed from father to son Turns brother against brother till kingdom come Chorus Whirl winds rage, howl revenge An eye for an eye a sin for a sin The voice of reason cries in vain Lost in the roar of this hurricane Solo Verse Vengeance is coming in a cold blooded rage Nothing is spared that stands in his way Evil will not be denied And madness never satisfied Chorus

about

This album is a synthesis of a wide spectrum of American roots styles...Tex-mex, Rock-a-billy, R&B, Country, Bluesy/Jazzy Rock, acoustic Americana, among others. Having been steeped in these great musical styles over the years, it's no wonder that their strong influences can be heard in the songs I've written for this album
